My husband and I visited the much talked about neophyte restaurant Hub 51 located on 51 West Hubbard street. The restaurant and night club's atmosphere was an industrial looking space that is very cool and eclectic. We visited the restaurant on a Friday night, and needless to say the space was jammed packed and there was an hour and thirty minute wait for a table! We managed to find a seat in the bar area fifteen minutes in.

Cuisine: The menu selections were a little scarce but ranged anywhere from seafood to tacos. The food, however, left something to be desired. I ordered the chicken tacos and the chicken was a little cold and tough and not that appetizing. If I would have waited for the hour and a half that we were originally quoted, I would have been pretty upset!A bright spot was my husbands, fillet Mignon tacos...they were totally scrumptious! I kept picking crumbs from his plate because his food was absolutely wonderful.

Civility: The service was impeccable. The waitress had a smile on her face and was very pleasant at all times. Although it was very crowded, it didn't take us long to get our food and we had very personalize service.

Culture: If you want to go to a place where all the "hot" people are, this is the place to be! All the beautiful people must have gotten the memo...HUB 51 is the place to go. I could have sat there all night people watching. The restaurant boost a club in the basement so there was a constant stream of people coming in for dinner and staying at the bar afterwards, waiting for the club to open, If you are going to come on a Friday night...come dressed to impress!

Currency: During this economy, few people have disposable income these days so finding a nice restaurant with good food was a priority for people. HUB 51 was reasonably priced. Entrees were between $15-$31. My chicken tacos were only $15 and my husband's entree was $18. Overall, our dinner was $58 dollars including drinks.

Critique: Overall, I give HUB 51 3 out of 5 stars. If you want a great meal you might want to find another restaurant in Chicago where the food is definitely worth a wait. However, If you want to hang out in one of the hippest places in Chicago, HUB 51 is where you want to be!
